Do you struggle with fear and can't seem to do what you know God has called you to do?
From New Leaf Publishing Group, the same people who brought us Transforming Church In Rural America, by Shannon O'Dell, comes The Summit: Faith Beyond Everest's Death Zone, a story of overcoming incredible odds to achieve amazing heights. This book is for anyone who needs a fresh dose of inspiration from real life experiences. If you're like me, you will come away with a deep sense of possibility.
Each chapter concludes with a "Crux" (the struggle we face); a "Hold" (the answer to the Crux); and an "Anchor" (the support should the Hold fail). I found tremendous information I can apply to my own "climb" as I reflected on what I'd read. The author weaves scripture and poignant quotes throughout his stories. He shares each experience in such a way as to bring you right into the emotion of the moment. Incredible!
The Summit was written by Eric Alexander, more than a skier, climber, and mountaineer. Eric is a person who embodies a picture of hope and possibility for the rest of us. Think you can't reach that next Summit to which God's calling you? Eric says think again. Read more about Eric on His website.

New Leaf is giving away a Kindle with The Summit already on it. It will go to one randomly selected person who posts the video on their website or blog, etc. All you need to do is post the video and fill out this form. Post and fill out the form often. You will be entered to win each time you do.
I am also giving away a copy of the book. Just share a comment on this post between now and November 19, 2010 and you will be entered into a drawing to receive a copy of Eric Alexander's, The Summit. The winner will be announced Monday, November 22.
Comments: What's your next summit?
Thanks for the heads up on the kindle and the book that can be won.
I love and thrive on stories like this and look forward to getting a copy and reading it.

My next summit? Hmmm that will take some thought. I spoke with someone the other day who asked me to consider doing a ride across Ohio on my bike or the Upper Peninsula (both next summer). I would like to visit Alaska. I would like to pay off my Outlander within a year and be debt free except for my house (that would be nice also). :) I would like to have the money to take a sabbatical and travel cross country with a couple friends (and my wife) on our bicycles. Maybe that is a bucket list and not a summit????

My next summit is the building of a winning, confident and reliable team that will take our business to the next level. The hurdles in this journey are complacency, lack of self-confidence, and paranoia about what the team's critics will say. My team needs a breakthrough! Hope this book could provide a framework.
