I know, I know. It's only October. Why am I posting about New Year's resolutions?
Truth is, January 1 will be here before we know it. By then, we will have gone through the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. It will be a blur. Now is an excellent time to start thinking about how the next year will go. Got goals? How do you want your relationship with Christ to look this next year? Got ideas about your fitness, diet, vocational growth?
Try writing down a few things you could focus on during next year. Keep the list handy as you fly through the holidays. Take a look at them now and then. Refine them. Hone them. Pray over them.
Got any ideas about New Year's resolutions to add?
Scott, I always think reflection at any time of year is a good thing. However, I never make resolutions...at least not many...not sure why. I do have this awesome quote that I think fits.
The object of a New Year is not that we should have a new year. It is that we should have a new soul and a new nose; new feet, a new backbone, new ears, and new eyes. Unless a particular man made New Year resolutions, he would make no resolutions. Unless a man starts afresh about things, he will certainly do nothing effective.

Jay - I absolutely LOVE that quote and your perspective on resolutions. I have found that with any "resolution" I make, it lasts when it fits with waht I sense God wants me to be and I learn how to weave it into my journey on a regular basis, not like a "fad diet" kind of approach.
Thanks for sharing the quote, though. That's rich.
