Effective Leaders Do This

Some of the things about effective leaders (in my humble opinion):

Effective leaders listen as if their life depended on it.
Effective leaders practice genuine humility on a daily basis.
Effective leaders keep their eye on the back of Jesus' robe at all times.
Effective leaders use process but develop people.
Effective leaders know what they can and can't do.
Effective leaders engage regularly in what Stephen Covey calls "Quadrant 2"
Effective leaders exercise regularly.
Effective leaders spend money wisely (personally and organizationally)
Effective leaders have an exit strategy (they look for their replacement at all times)
Effective leaders share their learning freely and openly.
Effective leaders seek to understand; truly understand.
Effective leaders seek input up and down the proverbial "chain of command".
Effective leaders keep their sleeves rolled up in case they are needed at a moment's notice.
Effective leaders are honest about the present struggle with an undying hope for the future.
Effective leaders wait in the season of wait and act in the season of act.
Effective leaders rarely carry the title of Leader.
Effective leaders love their God, then their spouse, and go from there...
Effective leaders parlay their learning experiences.
Effective leaders are willing to serve in obscurity (and often do).
Effective leaders aren't always widely followed in social media.
Effective leaders maintain an open line of communication with the Father.
Effective leaders lay down the mantel of independence each morning.
Effective leaders pick up the mantel of dependence each morning.
Effective leaders take time to sleep.
Effective leaders are voracious readers.
