It's just about ANYTHING besides knowing Christ, according to the Apostle Paul. Check out what he wrote to the people of Philippi:
"The very credentials these people are waving around as something special, I'm tearing up and throwing out with the trash—along with everything else I used to take credit for. And why? Because of Christ. Yes, all the things I once thought were so important are gone from my life. Compared to the high privilege of knowing Christ Jesus as my Master, firsthand, everything I once thought I had going for me is insignificant—dog dung. I've dumped it all in the trash so that I could embrace Christ and be embraced by him. I didn't want some petty, inferior brand of righteousness that comes from keeping a list of rules when I could get the robust kind that comes from trusting Christ—God's righteousness." Philippians 3.7
Hmmm. Just about covers it, doesn't it? Perhaps it should be more accurately called "god" poop (anything we let take the place of Christ in our lives).
So....... what in the world are you holding on to other than knowing Christ? Hold a pile of "god" poop in your hands. Smells, doesn't it?
Oh the smell...My wife would use the phrase:
"Smells like a bed of roses with a mess of crows flying over dropping poo-poo bombs."
No idea where she got the phrase by the way.
"Yes, all the things I once thought were so important are gone from my life."
It's amazing what we lend importance to even after we come into Christ's saving grace. Here's to letting go.

Dusty - I raise my glass and echo, "Here's to letting go!"
btw, your wife has quite a flair for turning a phrase!

I know that when I do hold on to something that God wants me to drop...it does smell after a while...gets heavy also. I want to be like the disciples...who dropped their nets and followed Him! Thanks Scott!

haha... Love the idea of this post. I think I let way too much poop take the place of the good stuff!

Just let it out and don't forget to flush. I think the point of your post is spectacular and the fact that you used a picture of a dog not only squatting but in mid-poop is about the most hilarious thing I've seen in a while.
Thank you Scott.

May we all learn to "drop our nets" and follow Him daily. Just like the disciples of a rabbi who would gather the dust from the rabbi's sandals, may we be covered in dust.

I know I do. Some days, poop rules. God forgive me.
