Reflections On Worry.
It's Sunday night. I'm reflecting on a couple of sentences Paul wrote and tucked up into Philippians 4. Something about worry. Bottom line? Don't.
Worry is a cancer. Worry is a thief. It steals joy. It steals hope. Give your future to worry and worry will hand you back an empty shell.
Instead, give your petitions and praises to God. That's right. Inside the cloud of petition and praise God works a miracle. It's a miracle of transformation - taking our worries and shaping them into prayers. Prayers are eligible to reach the nostrils of God. He smells them and understands.
What we get in return is a sense of God's completeness - this feeling that everything is going to work out. And that settles us down.
It's our choice. Life will lay all matter of worries at our feet. We can choose to go along with it and worry our future to an empty shell. Or we can exercise petition and praise and ultimately settle down knowing God is still complete. God is still on the throne.
Don't worry. Pray. Then settle in for a future full of hope. This is how we serve strong!
How do you keep worry from taking over your future?
