The other day, Seth Godin posted a thought on saying "no". He urges that if you have talent and people ask you for this or that, you have a choice. You can either "dissipate your gift by making the people with the loudest requests temporarily happy" or you can "change the world by saying 'no' often." Godin goes on to say...
"You can say no with respect, you can say no promptly and you can say no with a lead to someone who might say yes. But just saying yes because you can't bear the short-term pain of saying no is not going to help you do the work."
Think about your service to other people. We all know pleasing everyone is impossible. We also know just because we say "yes" to a request, the day doesn't magically grow by one hour. If our time, resources and energy are limited, we have to be discerning in how we answer others' requests for them. This demands a close walk with God to hear His heartbeat.
How are you learning to say "no"? The fine art of "no" and "yes" has a direct impact to your ability to Serve Strong!
