Over the Memorial holiday, my mother-in-law, wife and I were browsing an antique-type store (okay, guys. go ahead and have your laugh. It was a little painful, but tolerable.) During our visit, there was a song being played over the speakers throughout the store. It was nice & pleasant, as you'd expect most antique stores to have. But after about 10 minutes something occurred to me. It was the same song! The owners must have had the CD player on loop, but instead of looping ALL the songs, they were looping ONE single song. So, over and over and over it was playing. Once it ended, it started again. It was becoming a real distraction.
In people helping, your strength as a person dictates the kind of strength you can provide in your profession. But are you as strong as you could be? Are you replaying past hurts to your own personal detriment? Does this distract you from your service to others? Are you looping them over and over in your mind when there is nothing you can do about them?
Consider drawing an imaginary line on the floor. As you step across it, determine in your heart (with God's help) never again to allow past hurts to negatively impact your ability to Serve Strong!
