As I write this, I suffer from the common cold. Apparently, my body received a virus which is negatively attacking my system. As a result, my body has kicked into gear to remove the virus. That's why I have so much mucous to fill the kleenexes(okay, TMI). So I am resting. I'm sleeping more. I'm moving slower. All because my body needs to divert the energy to kick the virus. I've also taken medicine to help recover.
EQUILIBRIUM
What's really going on here? My body is trying to get back to equilibrium. It's trying to regain level balance. Things are not right and my immune system is taking care of it.
Sometimes we find ourselves out of balance in life. We've been working really hard on a project. We've let our email bunch up in the inbox. We've been giving and giving and giving without reciprocal rest. This is all normal. It happens to all of us.
So when we realize it, it's time to regain balance. For most of us, it's a simple process of saying "no" and making other adjustments. Sometimes we need to ask for the help of others (like I augmented my recovery with medicine).
Next time you realize you're out of balance, regain your equilibrium and you'll be Serving Strong!
