There are times when I see things completely the opposite of the conventional way I see something. It comes from an architect friend of mine. He, when he's stumped on a particular drawing, will make a transparency of that particular section of the drawing and flip it upside down to try and jump start his creative juices.
Looking at something completely contrary to what's normal can create a break in the flow of thought and possibly produce some interesting growth.
"Is it possible to worship self care for self care's sake alone?"
I was thinking about that question today. I believe in the power of self care for the person engaged in the calling to help other people. But can I take my self care too far? When do I begin to desire more self care than service? When does self care become hedonistic? Is there such a thing as narcissistic self care?
No answers in this post. Just thinking out loud. I'm interested in your thoughts.
