I read a statement recently and I need to get it out in the open so I can think about it more clearly. In the meantime, if you have any thoughts or comments, feel free. The gist of the thought is this:
"Ultimately, we were designed to become the fulfillment of our potential. In that sense, we each share the same purpose. The individual uniqueness is in the manifestation - doctor, speaker, teacher, parent, etc."
Send a comment if you agree, disagree, or have more clarifying thoughts...
Scott,
Our life purpose is not about us. If there is an ultimate purpose common to everyone, it is to glorify God and to love and help others. Our uniqueness is not in the roles we serve at work, home and in the community. It is in the fact each of us was created differently. It is in the fact each of us has been given a different set of gifts, talents, and experiences to use in fulfilling our life purpose.

Roger,
That's the kind of clarification that adds punch to the word "purpose". To merely pursue our purpose through our own manifestation would be a hollow dead end. Thanks for your perspective.
