Ever been to a bowling alley and watched someone bowl? See how they let the ball go and then, as if they could do anything about it, they lean one way and then the other to help the ball go where they want it? Some even use their hands to wave the ball to the left or right.
We laugh at such a notion, but don't we do this in life? We will soon be moving our daughter into her college dorm for the first time. Don't you know I am already wondering what I can be doing now to be sure she turns out alright! She's a great kid, don't get me wrong. I just find myself thinking, "have I done a good job as a parent?"
And I wonder how many times in our ministry to people we need to simply let go and allow God to do His work in their lives. I wonder how much unnecessary stress we add to our lives by worrying about what kind of job we're doing.
Is there something you are holding on to that needs to be released? Learn to let go when it's time to let go. It reduces stress. It helps us serve strong!
